Orange County Tourist Sights & Great Activities
Spot Whales and Dolphins with Captain Dave and his crew
Whales and dolphins can be seen off the coastline from the Dana Point harbor with wise seamen as they boast sightings all year long. You’re apt to see something, if it is not whale migration season, there are likely dolphins out but there are never any guarantees. But if you’re looking for blue or finback whales, ship out in September.
Dine at Medieval Times in Anaheim
It is similar to the Renaissance Faire, with large turkey drumsticks served in the dining hall, and a performance of knights who stage a fight for their honor. Medieval Times is something you can’t see everyday in most hometowns. It is a great family activity as kids tend to love the action and knights in shining armor, especially boys.
Knotts Berry Farm or Disneyland
The two theme parks are not far from each other with one in Buena Park, and one in Anaheim. Disneyland has announced a new world of Star Wars has begun construction in 2017 that will likely take a few years at best, but they created it just in time for the supposed end of the Star Wars movie series. We will see about that but this attraction should be a hit for the whole family.
Take the Ghosts & Legends Tour or dine on Queen Mary in Long Beach- the Titanic’s Sister
This ship was built close to the same time frame as the Titanic and used for Atlantic Sea travel during the 1940’s during World War II. Now it is parked in Long Beach harbor and used as a hotel, for tours, events, and as a tourist attraction. There is a restaurant on board the ship that is open to the public and well worth checking out if not to see the original art deco architecture and decor that is unlike anything you have ever seen. The views from the ship decks are gorgeous of the entire Long Beach harbor.
Take a Gondola ride in Newport, visit the Balboa Fun Zone and stay for dinner
Newport Beach is a popular tourist attraction, especially the beautiful beaches, Balboa Island, and the Balboa Fun Zone. That is an area that offers a ferris wheel, carnival games, shops, restaurants, and a ferry to take across the bay. The restaurants offer delicious seafood and on Sundays host a farmers market near the Newport Beach Pier.
