Meniscus Tear

This is a very common injury in the knee.
The knee joint has cushions called menisci (individual cushion is meniscus).
These tears are caused by sudden movement or twisting which happen often in a car accident.
Person may have a popping sensation, or it will lock in place, and usually will experience severe swelling.
Typically treated with over the counter meds, or physical therapy, and many times surgery will be needed.
